issue is that the controls are awful. I know that the game was awesome back in the 90s and is still fun to play, has great music, etc., but 3D games, and specifically 3D Mario games have improved so much, especially with the control scheme. A game should be challenging because it is legit difficult, not because the controls get in the way. Mario Odyssey is awesome. At no point in that game did I think there were any unfair deaths caused by bad controls. With 64, I feel like I can play for a half hour or so and then have to stop. I'll finish it eventually and then move on to Sunshine, but it is going to take a while. I kind of feel that they threw this collection together at the last minute or at the very least put minimal effort into it possibly due to Covid. It's definitely worth it for the three games, but it could have been so much better.
